Foton Heavy Trucks for Export

Foton’s Auman range sits where fuel cost matters more than maximum payload. We export EST and ETX tractors, 8×4 tippers and cargo chassis, usually paired with a flatbed or box trailer for regional distribution work.

Where Foton fits

Foton is not the right answer for an 80-tonne mining haul, and we will say so. It is a strong answer for 30–50 tonne distribution, where a lighter tare weight and a Cummins-based engine return better fuel figures over a working month. On a route that runs 300 km a day, six days a week, the fuel difference pays for a trailer over a couple of years.

Auman range

Model Cab Typical engine Where it fits
Auman ETX Flat floor, sleeper available Cummins ISG / Weichai, 340–400 hp Regional distribution and container haulage
Auman EST Wider cab, higher trim Cummins ISG / Weichai, 380–460 hp Long-haul work where driver comfort matters
8×4 tipper Day cab Weichai WP10, 340–380 hp Sand, gravel and site work at moderate volume
Cargo chassis Day cab or sleeper Cummins ISG, 300–380 hp Flat bed, dropside and box body conversion

Typical configurations only. Final engine rating, gearbox, axle ratio and body specification are confirmed on the quotation.

Pairing with trailers

Most Foton units we ship leave with a trailer behind them, because a light tractor and a light trailer together give the best payload-to-fuel ratio on a regional route. The usual pairings:

Export and support

  • Specification review — payload and route profile checked against engine rating and axle ratio before the order is fixed
  • Pre-shipment inspection — photos, video and recorded chassis and engine numbers
  • Documentation — invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin
  • Parts — Cummins-based engines share service parts with a wide range of equipment, which keeps consumables easy to source

If you are comparing Foton against Howo for the same route, send us the requirement once and we will quote both — same payload, same tyre specification, same trailer — so the difference you are looking at is the truck and nothing else.

Frequently asked questions

Is Foton strong enough for African roads?

For 30 to 50 tonne regional distribution, yes. For 80-tonne mining haul a Shacman or Howo with a heavier chassis is the better choice, and we will say so rather than sell you the wrong truck.

Which Foton engine is used for export?

Cummins ISG and Weichai units, depending on the model and the emission standard required at destination.

Can Foton tractors pull your semi trailers?

Yes. Fifth-wheel height, brake type and electrical sockets are matched at quotation stage so the pair works from the first day.

Do you supply Foton spare parts?

Consumables are easy to source because the Cummins-based engines share service parts with a wide range of equipment. We also ship a first-service kit on request.
